We all know that self-care is important. But did you know that it is also important for your kids to see you, as parents, practice self-care too?

This is what I discuss with Madonna Lazo-Smith, Expert Speech and Language Pathologist, in the most recent podcast episode on the Making Learning Special Podcast.

Allowing your kids to see your self-care practices can help them to develop healthy boundaries in relationships and with food, one of the topics that often creates shame and guilt for many adults and kids alike.

Instead of continuing the narrative of food being a reason for negative emotions, let’s start a self-care practice of being purposeful and intentional around the foods we choose to fuel and nourish our bodies.

Let’s help our kids create positive relationships with food and with body image, by being that example of self-care and self love.
