Pina Colada Smoothie

Who's ready for a Vacation???

Ok, well I can't actually give everybody a vacation, but I can make a vacation-inspired smoothie!

I was at the grocery store the other day and my daughter picked up one of those fruit drinks that had a Pina Colada flavor. So I, of course, said to myself, "I can totally make that at home!" And I did!

This is the perfect summer smoothie! It is also perfect to add a little pink umbrella to so you can sip it poolside and pretend you're somewhere exotic!

Pina Colada Smoothie

What makes the perfect smoothie?

This Pina Colada smoothie has all the same components that I usually have in my smoothies.

  1. Protein from the Vanilla Protein Powder

  2. Fiber from the fresh or frozen pineapple

  3. Greens from the greens in the protein powder. You could also add greens like spinach or kale into the smoothie if your protein powder doesn't have greens in it. Note that, adding spinach or kale to the smoothie, will make the smoothie a green color.

  4. Healthy fats from the coconut oil

  5. Superfoods from the chia seeds

These 5 components make sure that the smoothie is not only delicious, but also satisfying and filling.

For more info on why these 5 components are so important to the smoothie, check out my Facebook Live replay on my Get Nourished with Renata Facebook group!
