Yes it's true...

Back in January, I was contacted by someone from the Food Network. They wanted to use one of my Instagram photos of the Everything Bagel Salad on an upcoming "Recipe Mashup" episode of the show called The Kitchen.

Y'all, let me tell you.

I. WAS. ECSTATIC!!!

Food Network was one of the very first channels I ever watched after moving to the US. And, in a way, it was my idea of the American dream. I mean, getting paid to cook on TV?! That is pretty darn amazing! So this opportunity was a big deal for me!

The lovely woman from the Food Network did forewarn me that there was a possibility that my photo may get cut from the program if there was timing issues.

"Okay", I thought. "I can handle that."

I just had to wait for the program to air on February 15.

An entire MONTH away.

So I waited.

And I waited.

And thankfully the DVR recorded the show because we were out of town doing family things and didn't watch it live.

I know what you're thinking. If this opportunity was such a big deal for me, then why didn't I watch the show live???

Because... I had a sneaking suspicion, a gut feeling actually, that my photo would get cut from the show.

And guess what???

IT DID.

Yep, I said it. My photo was cut from the show.

Did it suck? Yes.

Did I feel sorry for myself for awhile? You better believe I did!

But you know what I did instead of waiting for someone else to give me an opportunity to be on a cooking show?

I made my own cooking show!

Just in case you missed it, I am hosting my own LIVE cooking show on my Facebook Group called Get Nourished with Renata.

The awesome thing about this cooking show is you get to vote on the recipes you wanna see me make.

Bored with your current breakfast options? Let me show you a new recipe!
